Anyone have one or know where to find one? A member here, Curtis, just put new steering in his bronco with cheby one-ton TRE's. After welding, can't rethread the TRE's into the inserts so needs to clean them up a bit. Any leads appreciated!

I'd check with a local machine shop. Our bodyshop painter's family owns a machine shop (not engine machining, they make parts & other manufacturing) and he has the tap & some machine/thread cutter that can do most any female thread pitch.

Where is he? I know a shop in Longmont that could probably do it.

In the 'Springs here. Would prefer to find someone local of possible, but that may not work out. I just know he doesn't have a lot of free time, but I do not know how often get gets to Denver.

I had to do the same thing to mine. What I do was make a tap out of the end of the tre. I cut a few angled grooves in it and just worked the tre in and out slowly with cutting oil.

With what did you cut the grooves did they wrap around the stud like flutes on a drill bit?

I just used a cut off wheel. Yea kinda like flutes in a drill bit. About the first 1/2 to 3/4" of the threads.
