Hydroboost Help
Could someone supply me with a list of parts needed to do the hydroboost? I've looked around on the site but can't seem to find what I need. Thx I haven't bought anything yet so if you have some stuff to sell, I'd be interested. thx again. Got the 302 and c4 out last week. Rebuilding the c4 . Bolting it behind a '91 mass air flow EFI. Now if I can figure out the wiring!!!

There are lots of ways of doing hydroboost. I used the mastercylinder/h-boost from a 99 Mustang GT. The Chevy Astro Van has a h-boost/mc set up that works well, using the Bronco's angled power booster bracket. Go on Classicbroncos.com and search "mustang hydroboost" or "Astro hydroboost" I'm sure there will be a lot of threads. I think old Lincolns are good doners too. I'm sure there are some good build threads with pictures. You'll need to run a High Pressure hose from your power steering pump (you'll need a better pump than the stock EB pump, like a Saginaw) to the h-boost unit, and from the h-boost unit to your steering gear. These hp lines can be built w/ "an" fittings & s.s. hose, or I cut & reflared the ends of the Mustang h-boost lines with the ends from my Bronco pump & gear. Then run low pressure return lines from the h-boost & steering gear back to the steering pump. You can find dual return pumps, or use a "t-fitting" back into the pump. Also you have to adapt from the metric bubble flare on the newer master cylinder to the standard double flare on your Bronco's brake lines. You can find these fittings at good auto parts stores, our Carquest & Napa carry a good selection. I'd suggest taking the time to plumb in a proportioning valve to reduce the pressure applied to your rear brakes. I used Chevy astrovan hydraboost and 78 camaro master cylinder (the astro van's m/c reservoirs were too tall) with my stock angle bracket
If my current m/c ever fails are starts leaking I am going to switch over to master cylinder / reservoir from early 90 Chevy S10 truck or blazer as it will fit

I'm running a 77 Lincoln hydro unit, with 78/79 big Bronco master cylinder, and the Saginaw dual return power steering pump from the same Lincoln. My lines were built by Whisler Bearing here in COS and the Saginaw sits in a power steering pump bracket from Wild Horses.
You will need to extend/make adjustable the push rod on your hydro unit, regardless if you decide to use the angled bracket or mount directly to the firewall. This is accomplished by cutting off the push rod, threading both ends, and adding a threaded coupler.

The wiring is pretty easy, look up the instructions from the 12071-C302 FRPP wiring harness and that'll get you 95% of the way there. Or I've got a '90 harness in one of my EBs, you can come over and see what/how it's hooked up.
On the hydroboost, about the easiest way to do it is to pull the PS/AC bracket off a mid '80s van with 351W, this will allow the Saginaw pump to bolt right up. Pull the Astro/Safari van hydroboost, PS pump, lines and reservoir. The Parker Store (Whistler sucks...) has the right adapter to mate the line to your EB steering box. I have an adapter plate or two in the shop for mounting. Joe
