Post Question about mustang heads
I was about to take my heads in to get worked on but found a set of heads off a 86/87 mustang that have already been gone through and are ready to run for a great price. Besides the emissions stuff on the backs of them will there be a problem running these on the stock 302 I pulled out of my bronco? I dont have a casting number but when I look at them what casting numbers should i avoid?

I'm not building the engine up to be anything more than stock so think I should be fine?

86 mustang heads will likely be the e6 castings and you do not want them, the 87 could have come with E7 heads and they are decent stock heads, you can actually port them etc and get really good flow numbers out of them.

Post Re: Question about mustang heads
i already bought them as they had already been rebuilt and cleaned from a reputable machine shop and iam building another engine on the side that i will replace the stocker with.. so I think they should work for the time being.. iam just refreshing the stock engine for now anyway and it saved me $100 picking these up. I wouldn't think i would be losing much on a stock engine anyway with e6 heads...

iam going to lay out all the parts i picked up yesterday and shoot some pics and get the casting numbers off them.. i have a bunch of heads now and want to see what i have.
