Power Steering Hose
Okay, so I have the Exploder motor and the Exploder power steering pump. I have a stock Bronco power steering box. I'm also power steering retarded.
For the pressure side, I think I'm going to do the -6AN adapters and hoses mentioned in the Explorer serpentine swap on ClassicBroncos.com. Seems quite straightforward.
The return side is a little more confusing because the writeup kind of just assumes you know what you're doing there. Can I take a stock Bronco power steering return line, cut the pump-end fitting off (if there even is one, I'm not sure) and then hook it to the return barb on the Explorer reservoir?
I'd imagine that'd be a decent way to do it, but I wanted to make sure before I bugger something up.

Re: Power Steering Hose
Only use the Lee adapter mentioned in the article. The other option is reportedly very troublesome. Return line just goes straight to reservoir but its a good idea to run it through a cooler of some type first.

Re: Power Steering Hose
Yeah. I ordered the Lee adapter. Also got the steel adapter for the box end rather than aluminum.
I'll run it through a cooler. I think my champion radiator actually has a tranny cooler tube in it. That might work to cool the PS fluid since I'm using a manual tranny.

The radiator cooler is a fine idea.

Re: Power Steering Hose
I thought about doing the same thing, but my champion radiator has a little bitty fitting on it. I wasn't sure it would flow enough. It'd make me happy if I were wrong, though, since I'm hoping someday to install the hydroboost unit that I've had for at least 9 months.

Re: Power Steering Hose
Yeah... the champion radiator fittings are incredibly tiny. I didn't think about that. They're what? Maybe 1/4NPT?
