Post New Body Mounts
So I had the bright idea to go ahead and replace all the old mounts with new polyurethane stock bushing mounts.

No big deal right?

So there's two in the front,
two behind that on the floorboard,
two in front of the rear wheels,
and two by the rear bumper

Everything went pretty well except for, you guessed it, the two in front of the rear wheels!

Saws all?

Are the bolts actually tucked up into that brace or what? I can't even see up there?

Thanks for the help, Mike

Yes,
There is a plate that acts as the bolt on these, much like the rears. Note- once you get them out, there is a hole in the frame on top of the frame, Cover it or you will lose some of the new parts down there and start a whole new dictionary of swear words.

Now,,, To get those buggers out, a sawzall is your friend,, BUT ,, try this first. because it's tough to get a sawzall in that area.

If you can get the bolt out, try to re-install it part way, a few threads worth. The beat the snot out of it with a BFH. Sometimes that will separate the parts. Another option is to take a 1/2 drill and see if you can free them up that way by drilling through it from the top.
You can also use an air hammer/chisel to try to break through the sleeve.

good luck,
Brett

BRETT!
You're a genius!
Couple big swats with the BFH and it was putty in my hand!

Thanks again for the great advice, Mike

Glad it worked out man. Thats the beauty of this place, somebody has been there and done that!

When you go to replace the bushing, ,,,, feel right on top of the frame rail and just under where the old bushing came out and there is a hole in the frame. You can't see it, but it will swallow your new parts when you go to install the new bushings and sleeves. just slap a 3 inch piece of duct tape or a piece of cardboard over it to prevent that.
Brett

Tape is your friend... I had to spend some time and cut a new magnet to fish the spacer I dropped through that hole.

Worked out great! The BFH hammered it right in half and was able to turn it out of the hole by hand!

Couldn't have won without tape! Winner winner! "Duck" tape dinner ;)
Thanks again guys!
