 c4 running a little warm So my engine and transmission were running a little warm on spring creek. Engine 230 and transmission was 220 to 230. I know all the climbing didn't help and once the load was off both cooled down.
Will a fan shroud help that much? My cooler is in front of the radiator so it changed my air flow alot. My fan is pushing too.
Can slightly low transmission fluid levels make it run hot?

Re: c4 running a little warm Yes, I'd add a fan shroud as it helps in all conditions. What type of fan are you running, I can't remember if you are running the older V belts or not? Some folks relocate the trans cooler to the inner fender or under the passenger seat area and add a small thermostatically controlled fan to it, I believe this can also be had in kit form. You say your fan is pushing, so pusher fan in front of the radiator? Low fluid certainly doesn't help, less fluid means less operational heat can be moved.

Re: c4 running a little warm Gearing. With the crappy gears they both have to work a lot harder to turn those 40's. Once you go atlas with a lower gears you'll see the temps drop. Welcome to the wonderful world of an auto.

Re: c4 running a little warm I loved wheeling with it but wow it uses power up. The transgo seems to shift really quick on the street. I have a manual value body is it really designed to be shifted manually all the time?

c4 running a little warm Fan shroud will help tremendously. Also if you can block air across the top of the grill where the hood sits to direct more air through the radiator that will help as well. I have dual pullers in front and without a shroud wheeling I have to run them continuously. With the shroud I have no issues and only run the pullers if Iam sitting in the sun on a very hot day.
