BC Broncos EFI tank pushing gas out of vent
Just installed the EFI tank and while priming the fuel pump, the vent line pressurized and blew gas out of my charcoal canister. Took the gas cap off thinking there was too much air in the tank. No luck there. Has anyone has this issue with this tank? I have an idea to tee the vent line into the 5/8 fuel filler vent to get liquid back into the tank and fuel fumes to the charcoal canister. Any assistance is appreciated.

Are you sure it's hooked up correctly? If you think it is then you're probably going to have to open it up and see what weirdness is going on in there. Should be no reason for fuel to come out the vent tube.

Viperwolf, You would think they would be better than that. Quality is in question if during assembly they neglect to make it match the install diagram. The one thing that sucks is that there are about 18 gallons in the tank.

There is no end to the number of mistakes they have made during assembly.
Ask me how I know

He is so familiar with the inside of his tank he actually made a door to get to it.

I grow a little more fond of my external pump humming away each time I read about the joys of trouble shooting an in tank pump.

If you have some gas cans just in hook the canister and let the gas go through the line until there is enough to drop the tank. I did that a few times. I also just dropped the tank then used the pump to pump all the gas out then hang it back up.

B.O.B, Good idea, I don't like the taste of gas.

Re: BC Broncos EFI tank pushing gas out of vent
I have that tank with an external pump feeding an efi 5.8. It will fill the bottle behind the seat which then leaks gas into the cab then sends fuel into the charcoal cannister. Which sits just over the right header. I never fill it up anymore. I have a theory that cold gas from under ground warms up and over pressurizes the tank. I do not have a solution.

Re: BC Broncos EFI tank pushing gas out of vent
All,
Found the connections backwards and the fuel pressure was not going to the fuel rail. Everyone makes a mistake at times. Corrected connections and the truck started and then ran out of fuel. Now I have error codes 95 and 96. Is this just the relay or did the pump die? I need to get this fixed since the truck is due at the Bronco Hut for body and paint. Thanks in advance.

Re: BC Broncos EFI tank pushing gas out of vent
BC sells it, but who manufactures that tank?

Unaweep,
According to BC Broncos, it is their tank.

Re: BC Broncos EFI tank pushing gas out of vent
Good news,
Dropped the tank and opened the top, The ground wire was not crimped into the lug connected to the ground stud. Finished the job and now my truck runs. Like the tank, just hate quality control issues.
