Help Identifying this Rig
Hi guys - I drive by this bronco everyday. It hasn't moved in a very long time. I am thinking about stopping and talking to the owner.
Before I do, can any of you "more knowledgeable" members give me an idea of the year or anything else? I don't want to be too clueless when I stop to look at it. I know the picture isn't much - but it's hard to get a good view.
Thanks,
RT9

Re: Help Identifying this Rig
That's a pretty low resolution picture from quite a distance.
If you could get a better pic almost exactly like the one you took so we could see tailgate details, side light markers, and door key position. That would help. A good pic of the dash would be a good indicator as well.
Regardless of what year it is, in my opinion, a Bronco is a Bronco from 66-77. Maybe study up on the difference between U13, U14, and U15. Most aren't going to be the needle in the haystack...But it might be! Good luck!

Re: Help Identifying this Rig
I agree, the pic really doesn't show much. Rust, general condition, running & driving defines the value of most Broncos. V8, power brakes, power steering will add some value. Only Stroppes will pull significantly more money. Even 66's aren't as valuable as others, because of how odd they are, and most are I6s. If you want to be able to figure more about the truck you can print out the different pages from http://www.broncohio.com/tech/ebvins.htmlAt the bottom of the page is a tab for each year. It always defaults to the 72 page. You can use this page as a reference to id if the the truck came with a Sport, Explorer, or Ranger package. They don't add tons of value, but they are nice upgrades from a stock model. http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86338

Re: Help Identifying this Rig
You need to be in your bronco when you stop by. Tell him you have 40k and your first born into it so they shy away from the project themselves!

Well we'll see what happens. I dropped off a business card today with a note asking to look at the bronco.

Went and looked at it this morning. Definitely a 500 footer... I'll keep searching.

Was his first car. Emotionally attached. 1970 with a frozen 351 and major rust.
