 Oil Drain Plug Leak Just changed my oil and I have a slow leak around the drain plug. Was wondering if anyone has a hack or suggestion on re-installing the drain plug so this doesn’t happen?

I have used the little rubber washer off of the garden hose, it’s size is just right and for 3000 miles you can count on it not leaking!

Re: Oil Drain Plug Leak Well, put the copper washer on and now it leaks worse. I haven’t even started the Bronco to pressurize it and in a day it’s leaked 3 times as much as it did before. So damn annoying.

Re: Oil Drain Plug Leak Per a suggestion, I torqued the drain plug down to about 30lbs and no more leak! I tend to over tighten stuff so was very reluctant at first, not knowing how much I should be tightening it down.
Finally, an easy fix!
