hARDTOP rebuild??
I am about finished with the build out of the 66 u14. The body guys say my full hardtop has too many holes from the roof rack, could be wobbly without additional bracing.. No rust and the liftgate is good but that I should find a better one to fixup. So,how about a fiberglass top from Bronco Design?? I would like your suggestions pro and con. Anybody else make a hardtop, fiberglass or steel under two grand?? thanks. larry

Re: hARDTOP rebuild??
I think 66-67 tops are different than later tops. The windshield holes are different but since you are rebuilding it I’m sure you could have them match the holes in your windshield frame. Bronco Designs might be able to match the ‘66 holes for you. Give them a call. I want a Bronco Design Fiberglass top. You can remove the sides and lift gate and run it as a safari top. If I had the $ right now, that would be on order already.

Thought I would check Bronco Design out, they state they don't pre-drill the holes due to the differences.

Re: hARDTOP rebuild??
I just met a dude at the Parker Cruisers (meet up in Parker for old cars) that said he had a hardtop in good condition, I could reach out to him and confirm if you want.

Thanks Kinder. My top is in good shape, I think and it needs help? I will try to trade towards a better one or go new.

Re: hARDTOP rebuild??
I always thought if I went back to a hardtop, I would put a ragtop in it: . I've heard the frame of the ragtop helps stiffen the top itself. Plus this might be an easy way to get rid of some of the holes. Plus you get the best of both worlds, a convertible hardtop! Just and idea....
