Rear axle not going in
I replaced rear axle oil seals and now the driver side is not going in all the way. It is connecting because both axles spin but it has about the bearing width to go. Passenger went in just fine. Any tricks to this?

Re: Rear axle not going in
I thought maybe that was it but it is the short side. When I drained the oil I spun it without the axles in which I guess I shouldn’t have.

Re: Rear axle not going in
Spinning it has no impact on the spline engagement. Either the axles are swapped or you just need to rotate the axle shaft a little until it engages fully

Re: Rear axle not going in
Is it a factory limited slip diff? There are 2 sets of splines on one side. They can become unaligned when pulling the axles out. Trick is to put the other side together and set it on the tire so it cant move. Then you can twist the other axle a little to get the splines lined up.
