Twin Dip Sticks
So here is probably the DUH question of the day. The donor engine that I have has an oil pan with a bracket to mount a dipstick but there is also a place to mount a dipstick -- of some sort -- on the timing chain cover itself. Can anyone enlighten me and tell me what that is all about?

Re: Twin Dip Sticks
The timing cover dipstick hole is for front sump type oil pans (early mustangs, etc). Plug the hole. Timing pointer may be on the wrong side also.

Re: Twin Dip Sticks
Ah, very good. I pulled the timing cover off of a 302 in a 75 Mustang. Hmmm... I suspect they sell a very specific plug for that application somewhere? Thanks for the hint about the timing pointer!
