4x4x2 steering box
I just did the 4x4x2 steering box swap and after turning lock to lock for 20 mins with the front wheels off the ground, I still don't have power steering to the right. It works turning left but not to the right. And that's with load on the front wheels.

Must be the nature of the box. The one on my 79 does the same thing. Just only when cold. I've replaced everything and it still does it.

Re: 4x4x2 steering box
I just put a new seal kit in it when I built the box. I guess I need to just take it back apart and see if anything moved. I was hoping that I did not have to take it apart but no such luck

Maybe try bi-directional fluid?

Re: 4x4x2 steering box
I found a torn seal on the input shaft. No one sells it in town and I had to order a complete seal kit from west coast broncos. This new box is a real pain in the butt and would never do it again

Re: 4x4x2 steering box
You are going to love that box when it is all done! Almost everything on an eb is a pita until it is done and you get to enjoy it! Take a step back and remember once it is done you shouldn't have to mess with it again!
Going to be ready for chinaman gulch this saturday? :)
