Mild lift
Hey folks,
I want to lift the front end of my '74 approximately 1.5-2.5 inches. I am looking for any suggestions on coil springs? I would prefer a ride as close to stock as possible. I just want to level it out.
Just looking for tips and hints.
Thanks for reading. Mike

Re: Mild lift
Check Wild Horses Rock Crawler coils. They have a 2 1/2" set. These are actually better riding than the factory coils. You might find an early F150 set of stock spring they might give you an inch to inch and a half.

Thank you Booger... How "early" are we talking about? 73-77? Mike

Re: Mild lift
But you may suffer a little on the ride with the F-150 coils. I did this to my bronco and I don't recall the ride effects. My FIL did it to his plow bronco and it helped hold the weight of the plow. Just stands to reason that these springs were designed to support a somewhat heavier rig. But they are CHEAP!

Re: Mild lift
Slightly firmer ride because of higher spring rate but totally acceptable. Much better than the early Bronco lift springs that rode like you were riding in an old lil red wagon or something like that.

Re: Mild lift
Like the old Rancho lift kits...I had one of those & you needed a kidney belt to ride down a dirt road with those damn things.
