AOD with 4R70 internals
Has anybody posted a write up about the AOD rebuild with 4R70 internals?

Re: AOD with 4R70 internals
....I would guess a lot of people would consider this option as no expensive computer or electronics are needed. Is there really any big negative to installing the 4R70w internals in an AOD... other than you cant lock up the converter?

Re: AOD with 4R70 internals
The 4R70W also allows you to control shift points electronically, with a Baumannator. I don't know if an AOD has any weaknesses compared to a 4R70W otherwise. But I'd like to know if the 4R70W is better/stronger. I'm guessing you could use the gears from a 5.4L 4R75W, they are supposed to be the same as 4R70W, but stronger. I don't know this for sure, just from reading: http://www.tccoa.com/articles/tranny/tr ... ndex.shtmlhttp://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00080.htmlI thought I had more, but here is a little info. At the bottom of the page, there is some specific discussion about adding the wide ratio gears to the AOD. http://www.becontrols.com/tech/ch3aodeupgrade.htm
