Post Pressure Plate Bolts
Okay... so this is an odd one. I have a 1997 Explorer 5.0L that I'm mating up with a NV3550 using a Centerforce clutch (the clutch comes out of some kind of Chevy to match the spline count of the NV3550) and pressure plate (for a 5.0L) and a new 50oz. flywheel ordered to fit a 198x Ford F150 with the 5.0L and 5sp. 11" clutch.

Ordered two sets of ARP pressure plate bolts so I wasn't reusing fasteners and there were two different kits, one metric the other SAE.

Neither fits. The SAE are 5/16 and I'm not sure what the metrics are, but they're about the same size and thread pitch.

The holes that mate up with the Centerforce pressure plate on the F150 flywheel are drilled and tapped for 7/16 bolts. I've never seen pressure plate bolts of that size on a 302/5.0L, so I just want a sanity check.

Also, any problem with just using Grade 8's from the hardware store? Maybe Grade 9 from Fastenal? Or should I try to find a way to get 6 ARP 7/16 bolts somehow. They have no "pressure plate" kit that's that bit... they're 3/8 or 5/16 or metric.

Thanks.

Scratch that, the holes are 3/8-16.

For what it's worth (for future reference) ARP #130-2201 for Chevys seems to work just peachy.
