Wiper motor linkage
OK, the bronco that I have has a cage in it that interferes with the wiper linkage. What kinds of mods are folks doing to mitigate this?
Is there a lower profile wiper motor that is a direct swap?

Re: Wiper motor linkage
Some Bronco parts houses sell a two wiper motor set up that may mitigate your clearance issues with the single motor linkage. Some of these can be a bit pricey. How much interference are you experiencing? is it just rubbing on the cage or is it completely impeding the wipers from working?

Re: Wiper motor linkage
It rubs to the point where it impedes the movement of the linkage. I can give it a hard push to complete its movement. Looking at it now, would possibly bending the linkage arm cause any issue with the movement. Could it really be that simple?

Re: Wiper motor linkage
I'll need to look at mine when I get home, but it might be possible that you can simply flip that short actuating arm coming off the motor from 12 o'clock to the 6 o'clock position to eliminate the interference.

Re: Wiper motor linkage
I say bend the arm a bit & grind if there's interference

Re: Wiper motor linkage
if your able to move it enough to get it going then can you space or bend the current wiper motor bracket? maybe put washers under the front bolts to tilt it back?

Re: Wiper motor linkage
I'd be temped to try and straighten out the shorter linkage enough to clear the cage.
I recognize the Mechanix Gear Glove clip. Mounted one to the shelf of my garage so I at least had the opportunity to put my gloves back when I was done with them.

Re: Wiper motor linkage
Here is a link to the drop bracket mentioned above. It lowers the motor and flips it 180 deg. http://www.tomsbroncoparts.com/product/ ... motors-new
