Post Painter for my new bumpers?
I'm looking for a painter in the North Denver area for my new bumpers. Both are bare steel right now and I'm looking to have them powder coated black. Should be a fairly easy job since they are not installed on the Bronco yet. Does anyone know of a good painter?

If you're looking to get them powder coated I've repeatedly heard great things about Roadrunner Fab. They're off 64th/I-25

I think a member of the Colorado Diesel Truck Club does that. Would you like me to get his contact?

Thanks for the replies, I will give Roadrunner Fab a call to check on pricing. Please hold off contacting the CDTC painter J.D.

Now that I think about it, it may be easier to go with a good paint job on the bumpers so I can touch up any scratches/rock-chips. From what I read, powder coating is great until the paint surface is compromised. And touching up the paint is out of the question. Can anyone comment on that? Do I worry too much?

For a piece that has the potential to be scratched, you right...powdercoating does not touch-up. With the right surface prep and application, it does last longer tho. However, since I know you're into off-roading, my advice would be to get it sand blasted if possible, then high quality rattle can at home. That way it can be touched up as necessary. Have you seen the hammered paint finishes?

I had a bumper sand blasted a while back at a company that makes head stones. Way cheaper than I could find anyone else to do it.

i used rattle can etching primer then the ACE brand black gloss outdoor stuff.. easy to touch up and looks pretty good. If its bare metal right now and you put 2-3 coats on it will last a pretty long time.

If you've got a compressor, consider a two part primer. Much tougher, and then you can paint whatever you want over it.

Roadrunner is amazing. However, I would get some primer and $10 Hammer Finish spray paint and see how it looks. Worst case scenario is that Roadrunner sandblasts off the paint and out $15.
