Post using shock hoop for coilover?
So i have a hoop mounted for my shocks. they make a hoop bracket that mounts to the hoop and rises up higher .. if i ran a strut between them they should be plenty strong right?

I would think so. These should only see forces in two opposing directions, so it shouldn't be hard to run a support side to side connecting them together.

I would think it would be. A picture would help of the bracket. Maby add a support from the frame to behind the bracket because if you add a bracket on top it's a lot of unsupported length.

I think he's talking about adding a support side to side above the engine, which should be adequate support if it's beefy enough. The trouble is, the shock hoops were made for just that. You are now asking them to support the weight of the front end. So you'd really have to concentrate the extra support where the coilovers will attach to. Again, no baja'ing! LOL!

I see what you are saying now just completely mis read. Would think that would be perfect as long as it is beefy enough.

Hoop to hoop with the necessary disconnect. Struts to the core support to stiffen up everything. The hoop to hoop is very hefty ,but I don't remember the wall thickness. It is made of 4130.
