Gremlins in the dash

 Gremlins in the dash Having a slight electrical issue and looking for some help with troubleshooting before I tear the dash out.
1. On the instrument cluster, PS turn signal indicator stays illuminated while lights are on. 2. Turn signals go out (fuse pops) after no more than two uses of turn signals. Hazards are unaffected. 3. Gauges do not function. Two instrument cluster voltage regulators are now in the trash after gauges worked for a few seconds and then a barely audible click was heard followed by no gauges working again. #2 and 3 tell me voltage is above expected in at least two places. I'd really like to get this figured out before I burn up my other two volt regs. Thoughts? _________________ Stroppe'd 1972 Sport, 302, 3 speed with old school Duff floor shifter, T shift Dana 20 with JB Fab twin stick, 4.11 gears with Trac-loc, Lincoln hydroboost, Chevy disc conversion, WH gas lift gate shock kit, 33" Duratrac tires on slots and about 2.5" of lift, Stroppe installed: bumper braces, dual shocks on all four corners, GM power steering, trans cooler mount, auto shift column, rollbar. The Terrible One 1972 Sport uncut, 302, C4 with 1974 column , T shift Dana 20, 3.50 gears w/ limited slip, 1966 U13 Roadster kick panel, and factory power steering. 1973 Stroppe Baja project |

Re: Gremlins in the dash Sounds like one or multiple shorts to ground, I'll come help you figure it out tomorrow night after work, in the mean time look for chafed or pinched wire, screws run through wiring in the dash, especially in the channel where the majority of the dash harness runs along the lower inside of the dash

Re: Gremlins in the dash #1 is a bad ground at the front turn light.
#2 is a short to ground. Possibly inside the turn signal switch. |

Re: Gremlins in the dash I'd just buy a ton of these. There might be some wiggle room on the $$$ if you buy them in bulk. Rumor has it that Adv Auto is overcharging gullible Bronco owners in the Springs.
