Post EFI Spark Plug Gap
I finished up my EFI conversion and while EFIGuy was tuning my motor, he mentioned I should probably replace the plugs. So, here's the question: Do I gap the new plugs based on the original 302 (.028-.032) because I'm running a mid-70s long block, or to an Explorer 5.0 (.054). My guess would be .054 because I'm running the coil packs. Is this a correct assumption? Just thought I would run it by some more knowledgeable people before I install them. There's quite a big discrepancy there!

Modern ignition = modern sparkplug gap.

Those coil packs are putting out the same energy in your Bronco as they were in the Explorer.

You want to run as much as possible before you get spark blow out.

So, for the record, I did .054 and it seems to work just fine. I had a tiny miss and this seemed to cure it. The old plugs were about a year old and looked pretty good, but were gapped at probably .032-.035. Note: I'm using stock Motorcraft coil packs.
