Exploder Water Pump ???
I bought the front dress (serpentine) for my OLD engine off of an Explorer, How do I know if it's Standard or Reverse rotation...and does that effect anything??? What's the purpose?

Re: Exploder Water Pump ???
I’m pretty positive that the Explorer front dress is reverse rotation. Just buy a water pump for the year Explorer you took the serpentine stuff from.

Re: Exploder Water Pump ???
If it's from an explorer its reverse rotation and there is no option to make it standard rotation. You must use the explorer water pump. You might be able to use a 94-95 mustang water pump (same bolt pattern) and fan but I can't guarantee the pulley spacing is the same.

Re: Exploder Water Pump ???
It does matter. Did you happen to get the water pump when you got the explorer SERP setup? If you did, just take the part number into the part store and get the same one. As far as I know, the SERP routing didn’t change from 96-01, and they all ran in the opposite direction of the v-belt water pumps. V-8 explorer serp water pumps and timing covers are identifiable because they don’t have a hole or mounting place for a mechanical fuel pump in them. Here’s a pic of a V-8 Explorer timing cover and w-pump off of a 2001. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Re: Exploder Water Pump ???
I’ll check the water pump for markings but going with Reverse Rotation as consensus...
ThankYou!!!

Bahaha! That’s funny. That was why I had the pics on hand so easily because I had them on the iPad when I posted it initially! Haha. Small world... Let me know if I can be of any help.
