4G Alternator install wiring
Not EFI, all of my old wiring still exist and just the front serpentine belt from 2001 explorer to include the 4G alternator.
So I’m running the yellow wire on the alternator to the 12v output. Then larger (red +) wire from the output to 175amp mega fuse to the battery.
A couple of questions???
The green/red wire on the alternator, does it go to the green/red wire on the Voltage Regulator? OR does it go somewhere on the starter solenoid?
Also, where the triple pigtail is, the old alternator wiring, can I get rid of that, just unplug it? If not, what do you suggest I do with it?
Any pictures with labels, colors, arrows, would be greatly appreciated!!!

Re: 4G Alternator install wiring
4G Explorer alternator wiring without EFI. Yes I know this is only slightly better than drawing it in MS Paint, but it works.

Re: 4G Alternator install wiring
So does anyone see the starter switch wire in any of my photos? Can you point that out to me?
... or do I need to run that alternator wire all the way to my ignition switch?

Re: 4G Alternator install wiring
It should be one of the wires on your voltage regulator. Pretty sure the arrow you added to the second picture is pointing to it. Instead of connecting to the voltage regulator, it should connect to the green/red from your alternator.
