Zenzone's 4th of July weekend (Pic Heavy)
Well this weekend was filled with wheeling. We went ATVing on Saturday 7/2 at yankee hill-miners gulch- kingston peak. Monday 7/4 we went up to Red Elephant Hill-Mill creek- and Bill Moore Lake. Red Elephant is getting very dug out, its way rougher than it was two years ago when we went up it. The trail is very very steep the first three miles. It has some great hill climbs and off camber boulder crawling. I was struggling with my carb all day, I have a free new 670 Truck avenger on the way but it didn't arrive for the weekend. The 470 is still running like a diesel.haha It was the last trip for the 470 and glad to see it go, the bog is getting very annoying. After red elephant we went up to mill creek and had a lunch at our favorite campsite by the water. After we made our stop into the Empire Hilton, its in very good shape and well taken care of. Cool to see places like that have survived. We then went up Bill Moore lake and made it about a mile and a half from the lake till a 1000 yard snow drift stopped us. It was a great day and tons of fun. We had my Mom, Dad, Sister, and dog along. The whole trail system is in good shape and getting much tougher. We were almost down when we took the steep tough shortcut (legal) and had a rock jump up and bite the Bronco. Nothing too major but still trail damage. Very steep off camber spot, need to take the high line and let it rool through and not hit the break or it could roll over. Very Steep off camber climb. Left line will test most large trucks. Someone has stacked some rocks be real good without them. Mom said it was too steep and scary so she got out. haha big off chamber wheel stand. Somehow mom missed pic at top of rock, it was fun. Awesome campsite by creek and grass field. first creek crossing Empire Hilton fixed the window Snow at top of Bill Moore SLidding on shovel in the snow Rock jumped up and bit me. it rolled over on me. Wreck on I70 on the way home We also went up the yankee hill-miners gulch- kingston peak on our ATV's. We hit large snow drifts on Kingston Peak. It was an awesome day. We came across a Bear in Blackhawk. Stopped for lunch and bro fell asleep My best hidden camping spot up there Real Good Hill Climb Trash we picked up all day My bro, it was a dusty day!! What a great weekend!!!! hope you all had a great one as well.

Looks like a great weekend! I've been eyeballing Kingston Peak as a possible trip this summer, may need to pick your brain about the trail.

Looks like a good time, so the family didn't want to ride on the steep area's. Noticed them walking while you were driving. It's fun to keep people on edge.

Zen that's some great pix. I have always liked the Kingston peak trips in four wheelers as well as on the dirt bike.

I would love to run it with you! The 16th might be hard with the tech day planned, and the 17th is our 6 month old girls dedication. But if your up for the weekend after... it looks like I could go?
