Wheeler Lake 9-16-12
Took the Bronco out for a little rubbin to Wheeler lake yesterday.
My neighbor traded off his sand rail for a 1995 Wrangler with a bunch of lift, 350 Chevy engine, 42" tires, D 60's, atlas and of course locked F&R.
He wanted some place to go that we could both have fun on and it was decided Wheeler was the place to go.
He had his Jeep and me in the '74-3.5 lift, uncut with 33's and a lim slip in front open rear.
I had the wife and 2 kids with me, he had his wife, and his step daughter was along with their Polarais ATV.
Left the house shortly after 6am got to Breckenridge at about 8:15 and were at the trail head at Montgomery Reservoir aired down and ready at about 9:15.
I had never been and was told that with my rig it might get tight here and there. Twas no lie. plenty of rubbing going on. one little slip off a rock landed on my passenger front fender at the rearest point for a little tweak but nothing bad.
There were a couple of spots that made the bohemoth work a little but it was mostly him waiting for me to work through an area then he'd just cruise on through.
His stepdaughter needed a bit of help here and there with advice as she is pretty novice on the ATV but she did great.
The weather was perfect, T shirts with the side windows out the whole way and a sweatshirt needed at the top at the lake for lunch.
lots of color due to changing tree's. some water to cross here and there just a great day all around.
The Mrs. and I just bought a new camera and took literally tons of pictures that I have yet to sift through but they will be coming soon.

Glad it was a good run, not happy to hear of the dent. It'll buff out I'm sure! Now get those pics posted.

Thanks for the report. Looking forward to the pictures. My dad was up there a couple weeks ago. That is a fun trail!
So you went via I-70? I'd much rather travel 285 to fairplay. Just watch for speed traps in Alma.
