2x EB Dana 44s (ARB's 4.56 and 4.10 gearing)
Hey guys (and gals)
I have two EB Dana 44s I'm getting ready to sell.
1) This unit came out of my Ranger. I built it in 2002 from a housing that I saved from the crusher at the bone yard. I had it sand blasted and powdercoated black before starting the build. It is a little dirty right now, but the powdercoat has held up awesome. The axle itself has zero rust pitting and is straight as an arrow. It really pains me to sell this one, but I'm dead set on going full width.
Right now I'm pulling the ARB and knuckles out for the next axle, but I will leave the 4.56 gears if someone were interested in both. EDITED: I pulled the trigger on a new ARB for the full width axle, so both existing axles will be sold with ARB. The axle is just the center housing, no knuckles, brakes, etc. I will try selling this with the gears first because this could potentially save someone some money in a setup kit. For those interested, I can supply the pictures from the original gear setup. The pattern was excellent. I've put 120,000 miles on the axle, but only about 5000-10,000 miles on the gears. This axle will be available as soon as I get the locker pulled this week.
Housing with gears & ARB: $700
2) The other Dana 44 is the one sitting under the Bronco right now. I will sell it complete. It has 4.10 gears, an ARB, and the stock lockouts. Brakes are drum, but in good shape. There is some dirt and oil buildup on it, but the axle looks to be in great condition. Everything functions well. This one will be available in the next 30 days.
$800

Re: 2x EB Dana 44s
I might be interested in the 2nd one. Anyway to swap the gears from the 2? I'm looking for 4.56 gears with ARB so of we could swap gears, I'd be all over this.

Re: 2x EB Dana 44s
Glad you are still interested. It was late last night, but I did remember you asking about that axle last year.
If you really want the 4.56s, I will leave the #1 axle alone. This would save effort in gear setups. Plus the #1 housing is just nicer. Both lockers are the same, but I liked #1 because I installed it and was meticulous with the gear and locker install. It would not take much effort to switch the knuckles from #2 to #1, if you want to help with that.
With your interest in the 4.56 axle, I may just order a new ARB and sell both older ones since they have gears setup already.

Digger, If your going full width, are you planning to sell the stock length rear 9"?

Yes, but a friend of mine has first dibs on it. Otherwise I'll throw it up here.

I shot one back at you. Let me know if you don't get it. Right now it looks stuck in the OUTBOX.

I forgot to mention, I also have two long side inner axle shafts from a Blazer (760x U-Joint size) that were cut down and re-splined by Moser. I will throw those in with the axle. I no longer have a use for them with the full width.
