Don't know if it's too late or even if I have what you need but I've got an open third member that's 3:55 ratio?? I never used it because I replaced it with a posi before I ever had the truck running. So I don't know the condition but it's all there.

No the D44 is not a LS diff. If it was it woulda been in the front of my 79 a long time ago. It is just an open carrier for 3.92 and lower gears. If your not puttin a locker in the front or LS you will need a new carrier for the 4.10's.
