Rear Differential
I’m looking to replace my stock rear diff. 4.11 gears 28 spline axles Don’t really need to upgrade it just looking to replace it with something stock. Mine has got a lot of slop in it and the vibration is becoming increasingly worse
I talked to a guy who could rebuild it for me and insisted on all new parts for $795 on Up! Sooo Anyhooo...
I might also consider buying a whole axle if you have one handy and just wanted to get rid of that and not part one out! Thank you all!

Re: Rear Differential
You can get a rebuilt one from Quick Performance delivered to you for $560 (open differential). They have all sorts of options as far as lockers and spline count. That is the least expensive place I have found with a good reputation. Good luck with whatever direction you decide to go.

Re: Rear Differential
There's a guy in Erie that rebuilds them. I think his name is Dan. He posts on Craigslist frequently. Not sure what he would charge to rebuild your center section but can't imagine it would be all that much.

Re: Rear Differential
buy the parts and do it yourself. The easiest to learn on is a 9in. I have done many of the now. No special tools required minus clamshell puller(only if putting new bearings on and old diff) And a press for the new bearings.

Re: Rear Differential
I have used dan 4 times including the center that is in the racer. He only uses great parts and components and his prices reflect that - most of the cost is in the parts if you have him build you a new center.
Quick Performance out of Iowa is surprisingly affordable. They built me a custom Heavy Duty trussed rear housing with billet ends for $765 shipped. I haven't priced out their centers but wouldn't hesitate to do so.
I echo Rob's suggestion of picking up a 9" rebuild kit and do it yourself. Very straight forward.
i would also look at the other components of the driveline if your having noise if you haven't been able to narrow it down - steering box bolts, rear leaf bushings, transmission mounts, engine mounts driveline. etc..

Re: Rear Differential
If the diff is out you can bring it by my place with the new parts and we can rebuild it together.
