Electric classic
This is pretty cool even if it's a one off. Detroit Free Press: Ford makes classic pickup electric in surprise one-of-a-kind F-Series truck reveal. https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ ... 248284001/Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk

Re: Electric classic
Did you see the link to the crate engine? The price isn’t outrageous, but you’d still need the battery pack and other bits to make it function. I know plenty of shops are electrifying older vehicles by using scavenged parts from wrecked E cars, but factory support is a cool option. https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-9000-MACHE

Re: Electric classic
Awesome to see them release that crate motor. And cool to see other, smaller companies popping up with options.
Zero Labs has a for dropping your existing EB onto. Electric GT has a but it's insanely expensive. They want $65k just for the motor.
Hopefully more companies, including the major mfr's, entering the space will make these conversions much more affordable in the near future

Re: Electric classic
I suspect 20 years from now electrification of classics will be the norm.

Re: Electric classic
There's a good chance it will be the only way in order to drive them regularly. Either the cost of gas will be prohibitive or they simply won't be allowed at some point. More likely the former. I will have my dad's 49 Chevy 5 window truck at some point and I doubt my kids will be able to drive it regularly when they get it from me.

Re: Electric classic
Test drove a hybrid F150 last weekend. Have to say, rolling around on just the electric was dreamily quiet. I like the noise from my bronco, but wouldn't mind that in a daily. In other news, I'm apparently old.
