Ahh, thanks for the pictures! Had some interesting back-n-forth with Matt, the creator of Bored-o-leafs.
I still think I prefer my plan of attack with a tension shackle.

It is nice how tension shackles tuck up out of the way. So far i have hit the spring ends but have not been fully hung up on one.

Sorry it has taken so long for a response, life has been getting in the way. My wife got the covid and i have been battling the flu....go figure.
None the less, there is roughly 3 inches of up travel.
