Another A9L/A9P
Hi Gang,
I have finished up my 5.0 conversion on my old school Ranger. I was not able to get it started as it appears the EBay A9M I bought had the typical 3 capacitors shot (fuel pump just runs on). I opened it up and sure enough one of the legs on two of them were broke. Sent it to a crap ass company SIA Electronics and they have had it for 3 weeks. As a result I asked them to just ship it back. I now need to find some kind of replacement. These units are getting hard to find and when you do you never know what you get. I do not need a high HP setup, I just want it to run. I used a painless harness and an Explorer 5.0 with a TFI distributor. I have heard some crown Vic ECU’s would work with a change in fire order? Any suggestions?

I have an A9P that EFI guy went through and was never used. Was going to put it up for sale but it hasn’t been a priority if you’re interested.

Get the ECU you have to Garry/EFI Guy. If it can be fixed, he can do it.
I'd also grab an extra for backup. I got lucky and ended up with 2.

Re: Another A9L/A9P
Sounds good. I will plan on getting with EFIguy once and if I get mine back. I was thinking today, its probably a good idea to have another just in case. Seems these are pretty hard to come by. Thanks to Kevin for getting his to me lickity split. I appreciate all of the advise.

Looks like a clean ranger! I have been worried about my computer as it's pretty well exposed and I don't have a backup either. It'd be interesting to know if there are alternatives.
