hi lift under front or rear bumper?

Postby Gregg » Wed Mar 30, 2011 2:36 pm

I have stock front and rear bumpers and the tire carrier does not have room for this jack. So, would you all put it under the front or rear?

I would say rear. Ithink there would less chance of hitting it on obstacles. Either way youchance it.

Neither. I would find a way to mount it inside. Hi Lift makes a bunch of cool accessories for mounting to flat surphases or tubes. It would protect it from the elements and lessen the chances of getting it stolen. I know they look cool mounted on the outside where people can see them. BTW - I may not be practicing what I preach as mine may go on the rear tire carrier ;).

So what happens when ketchup gets a flat cruisin around town. Do you bank on your good looks to have someone help you?

Not sure if you have a roll bar but I saw in your members rigs page that you are going to get one so I say put the high lift on the roll bar. Thats where I have mine and it works great. Keeps it clean and and rust free so it will operate correctly. Only thing you may want to do is put some padding on it if you have lots of passengers back there so they don't hit their head on it.
