What can make a leaf spring do this?

 What can make a leaf spring do this?Both sides are like this on the rear portion of the spring

Re: What can make a leaf spring do this? That doesn't even look like part of the leaf spring to me......maybe something a PO added to stiffen up the ride?

Re: What can make a leaf spring do this? in the top pic, do I see a hole where it bent? That hole is probably supposed to be in the pack on the centering pin. Looks like an old cobbled together fix.

Re: What can make a leaf spring do this? You guys are right, I don't know why I didn't see that they were overload springs of some sort. These were on one I was looking at but have since decided to pass on.
