It's been a number of years since I've done repeatable wrenching on a vehicle and always just used an old pair of levi's to work on the rigs. I'm one of those guys that gets near oil and end up wearing it somehow.

I was thinking about getting some coveralls or something exclusive to wearing only while wrenching. My job allows me some flexibility and it's not uncommon for me to get 45 mins during the day to where I can get some work done on the bronco so I'm looking for something that I can throw on quickly over my normal clothes and shoes, do you guys use anything specific, have a style or brand you like over others?

Bet you never though there would be a fashion question on this site. lol

I used to use a surplus flight suit that was large enough to get on without taking my shoes off. Finally wore it out and just use jeans and an old shirt now. Have lots of old shirts now from forgetting and using a new shirt. One grease spot on new shirt = old shirt.

I wear Jeans, T-Shirt, and Vanns. All can go in the wash together - easy clean-up.

X2 on the flight suit. Zippered leg cuffs and lots of pockets make it very handy garb, when I remember to put it on. I've done a full day at the salvage yard before, taking it from the original tan to a near black. Zipped it off for a clean ride home.

I tend to wear whatever i have on at that moment. Be it old, new, nice or grungy. Not the best option and sometimes costly but more convenient than changing. Definitely not a hit with the wife either......I would stick with coveralls.

I wear overalls. I can't seem to move with a set of covies on.

hmm Thats a good point, I'm not a fan of restriction so maybe overalls would work better.

If your garage is heated, it's an easier question to answer. You won't need something huge to wear layers underneath so whatever you settle on can be a your-round option. When I went to Baja to pit crew for BC Broncos I bought a pair of lightweight coveralls made by key. Never got to wear them, and they are still new, but I should dig them out and start wearing them in the garage.

For now, just jeans and a long sleeve if I can get away with it without overheating.
