Post Keys made...
Hey guys,

Not sure if this is even news to anyone, but after I bought my '74, I realized I only had one key for it. So I went to my local hardware store here in Denver and asked if they could copy my only key. Which is extremely worn, but still works, it is the original key.

Low and behold, the hardware had the exact replacement for it. Same pattern, same design, same everything. But it is silver. Not gold. The guy told me he has had these blanks for a long, long time. He had 30-40 of them left.

Kind of cool getting an almost OEM key from a hardware store for only $2-3.

It is Ace Hardware in Cap Hill. Thought it was something worth posting....

Have a good one..

Mike

Oh nice find! I ended up replacing the ignition cylinder and and door locks with new stuff but it's great to know there is a store out there with original blanks!

Yeah, they are hard to find. I think my tumbler is sticking, so I may need a new set...
