Well...never thought Id own two classic vehicles 68 R/T
I had a once in a lifetime opportunity this morning and took it. Now I have my 70 EB and a numbers matching 1968 Dodge Charger R/T. All within 3 weeks of each other. Ive never owned more than one classic at a time and so this is a little overwhelming. Sometimes you just know you will regret passing something up and this was one of those times!!!
The car I bought this morning is easily worth 2 to 3 times what I paid for it...Pics to come!!!

Congrats! I am going to end up the owner of a couple myself shortly when my 66 Bronco arrives, but unintentionally. Still trying to sell my 1973 Dodge Challenger to make room for the new arrival.

Re: Well...never thought Id own two classic vehicles 68 R/T
Awesome 68-69 Chargers are one of my favorites. I grew up in a Mopar family. My aunt still owns her 70 Dart swinger that came with a 340 HiPO in plumb crazy purple and she still drives it to work once a week. Its white now but she wants to take it back to purple. My Stepdad had a 68 RR when I was a kid and a few other mopars before he bought a 64 Pontiac GTO 389 tri power car which was a monster. Then a piece of crap 72 vette. My little brother had a 73 Chally but it got torn up in a bad hail storm in the mid 90s. Many others I cant think of now. Here is what my dad has now a 72 Cuda 440 with a 100 shot will lay down a 12.02 flat and consistent. I dont think we have more than 6,000 tied up in this car. I have the same amount in my 67 mustang and same in my 64 F100 and neither is more than half complete. 66 and 70 broncos, if you ever need any information or help finding parts on that car. send me a PM I have a few friends that do nothing BUT old mopar collections/parts etc etc etc...

Re: Well...never thought Id own two classic vehicles 68 R/T
I knew there had to be some EB fans who liked mopars too. I just went out to take some pics today...should pick it up Wed. I cant wait to drive this thing...needs some finishing. The engine is rebuilt and never fired but needs completed. The car is in amazing condition.

Re: Well...never thought Id own two classic vehicles 68 R/T
Thats actually about a quarter inch of dust...the paint is excellent. 6 base coats of original color...4 coats of clear. Makes my EB look like crap :) But my EB is just for having some topdown fun anyway :)

Great looking car. Are you going to do something original and paint it orange with 01 on the side? LOL!

LOL...the lady crossing her arms is my wife. But she actually likes the car...on the way home from checking it out she said...I want it to be loud...it looks like it should be loud. I have to admit I was turned on by this statement :)
She has learned to tolerate my love for all things old :) She does however get tired of me talking about my old stuff or the old stuff Id like to have :)

Re: Well...never thought Id own two classic vehicles 68 R/T
@jesus_man...Yeah...The General Lee was the car that made me fall in love with early Chargers. If this one wasnt a numbers matching RT It could have went that way so don't laugh too hard :) Although this will stay pretty close to original.

Re: Well...never thought Id own two classic vehicles 68 R/T
I actually had a Dixie horn in the Dodge Intrepid I owned for many years...I let my Brother in Law borrow it for now...its in his Wrangler. I actually have an OOGA horn that will be going in the bronco...it was in my first EB too :)

If you ever decide to get rid of it I'll buy it from you...But I hope she lets you put it in the bronco :) The OOGA horn was always fun in my 66...I just havent had much time to work on my 70 yet...but that is on the long list of things to do.

Re: Well...never thought Id own two classic vehicles 68 R/T
Very nice Charger. I always tell some of my work buddies that I could have very easily been a Mopar guy or, heaven forbid, bowtie guy. My first car list included Mustang, Cougar, Fairlane, Galaxy, Dart, Charger, Cuda, Challenger, Roadrunner, Nova, Chevelle. Any off that list would have set the tone for my loyalty. Since Mustang GT won out blue oval was my direction. Would I buy one of the others right now? You bet. Almost bought a Nova a few yrs ago from a buddy. Love them 60's-70's hotrods.

Re: Well...never thought Id own two classic vehicles 68 R/T
Hey...thats awesome...that was me and my buddy. He was pulling with his 93 Cummins Dodge...
It is a bit crusty...but its his second 69 Charger (he has a nice driver back in OH he is planning to haul out soon) needs eng/trans put back in. Quite a project but he got a good deal. It was a a long day...He came from Divide...we went to Denver...hauled his "new" 69 back to Woodland Park....went to Falcon...picked my 68 up and hauled back to WS Co Springs. About a 10 hour day. Of course right after he left I hopped in my Bronco and went to a Bluegrass and BBQ at my church with the top off. Great evening for a cruise. BUT...I am whooped!

Re: Well...never thought Id own two classic vehicles 68 R/T
The very vague answer to that question is: however often we want. All members are encouraged to plan outings, meetings, get togethers, etc. You can simply throw up a thread in the Staging Area if you are interested in organizing something.
We did run a breakfast down here back in February with a pretty good turn out.

That is a beautiful car - glad it made it home safe. Love the reaction of your neighbors staring at the new classic car.

Watched the Dillema last night and loved Vince Vaughn's Dodge Cuda Convertible - dark blue looked nice. I can see the draw to the old Mopars.
