When I took the body on and off I used a 2 Ton Engine Hoist, raised and lowered the body, it worked great, then I sold it. My truck came with a 2" Body lift and am trying to make it wife friendly. Unfortunately, I need a 1" body lift to clear any air cleaner on my 351. What is the best way to install a Body Lift?

I used a floor jack and peice of 4x4 to lift the body up enough in each area to slide the pucks in?

Floor jack works well. Or I bet somebody has an engine hoist they would loan you....Do I hear a freshly body worked and painted bronco getting CUT???

I assumed that was understood zilla, but you're right. Spread that load out as much as possible.

I think my only issue was mt throttle linkage hit the air cleaner causing the full throttle. It didn't start right off and I couldn't figure out why. Then when it fired, she started climbing in rpm's fast!

Dan - when you say 'long board' do you mean horizonatal with the frame/body or vertical? Like to try to lift the whole side of the body instead of each individual body mount?

I will remove the fan shroud and automatic trans linkage.

Lay the board flat along the floor boards or inner rockers (horizontal). Again, spreading the load of the body over the entire board. I am thinking around 3ft long would do the trick.

EDIT: if you really want to get fancy, and with the quality of your rig you might, you could build a T-shaped piece to bridge the gap between your body and your jack as a lot of jacks won't go up high enough. Just make sure you keep your jack from rolling while doing the job

Thanks for the great advice guys. The Jack and 2x4's worked perfectly. The 1" Body Lift went in good, but it sucks to remove the battery, trans linkage, shroud, seats, etc. when they have all been installed. I should have just done this in the beginning and not tried to have it shorter for the wife and parking garage at work.
