Bend them your self if if you want them like that. Just be patient. There's special tool for this but if you use something like a full pop can and go slow you can make it look like that. A flaring tool would be needed for making your own though. If you need you can borrow mine.

My Bronco came with nice WH S.S. braided lines and wanted to re-use them. So much that I went to Advanced, Depot, Ace, Oreily, Ford Dealer (closed), Napa (moved), Autozone and could not find an $3.00 adapter that was a male/male end for the smaller line for between the cable and Proportion valve. So pissed - just didn't wanna spend another $50.00 on lines and just use what I have. Wasted over 2 hours and dealt with people who appear to know less than I do.

I remember when Home Depot hired ex-contractors that new something. I am sure the auto part stores used to hire mechanics. A guy at Advance helped me a couple weeks ago - he was there again tonight and asked to help me - I told him I want anyone else in the state to help me. I hate the way they need their computer to figure anything out even after telling them that I have a different engine, different brakes, different blah-blah. I do not know crap when it comes to this stuff. What a wasted night. All right - done bitching.

Most brake lines I have seen are male / male ends. My lines are male / female (like Dan's new camper) and I need to get the Female into a Male (like Chaz Bono) - it should not be this hard.

Thanks for the help guys and sorry for the rant - not sure what the best solution is for fixing the lines.

Take your lines and proportioning valve down to a Fastenal store. They carry a gazillion parts for hydraulic lines and what not. They should be able to hook you up.

Have you considered calling WH and seeing if they will swap the lines for you? Were they already used or were they just included in the purchase?

A Fastenal is Brilliant! I just looked it up and there is a location a few miles from me, plus they open at 7 AM so I may have this situation whooped before work. I put everything in the trunk so I do this one time. Damn I feel better already.

WH lines are used so no shipping them back.

Fastenal is the shiznit. Only problem I have found with them is often you need to know exactly what you are looking for before you walk in the store. i.e. diameter, thread, connection type, etc. I accredit this to the general lack of technical and mechanical knowledge across the board in retail these days. If they can't find it in their computer system or simply reference it by the previous application they are dumbfounded. Fastenal does seem to be, for the most part, one of the last hold outs of the old timers.

Advanced doesn't even make the attempt with me anymore. Most of the time the asst manager just says "you know where everything is. go grab it." Also helps when I show up with part numbers in hand. Negates their whole "what's the year, make, model, and engine?"

I think it will be a very long night and may not go to bed lol. The small Fastenal on Havana and I-76 did not have it so I may goto the Ford Dealer at lunch. I will try AAI as well.

I have always had decent luck locating parts like that at Grainger. I have an account there, if you need to you are welcome to use it (still have to pay - no credit at Grainger). Generally they have good people who will put in the time to search for what you need.

I have never used Fastenal but met a rep about tools and such that told me about the company. I have always bought my brake lines and Trans cooler lines from NAPA or CQ and bend them myself. Bronco Hut sold me the braided SS lower lines and I think they have the uppers also.

The fastenal in TX I used was awesome! They would order in anything I needed. Haven't been to the one here, although I know a guy who works there (Mark). He's a gearhead.

The little things like this are what's killing me - you guys with mechanical experience could have fixed this way faster. Sucks being a Grasshopper - cannot wait to become a Ninja Master like the rest of you guys. Someday.

JD - Tonight doing the Brakes, painting then mounting the new rear tire carrier from Crawler (it is freakin' sick!), cage bolts, securing some wiring, misc. stuff. Really excited to finally get this thing on the road!

If another pair of hands will help, I am there as well. Just let me know, would love to help. I have to take my wife and kids to the airport at 4:45 but after that I am free until Monday evening. Home alone folks...

Big plans too - still undecided about breakfast in the morning but tomorrow I plan to work on the mustang's trans and hopefully reinstall the motor & Trans. Sunday I plan to get the fuel gauge fixed on Free Bird (yea - electrical.... my fav!!! banghead ).

Body lift wont arrive in time so I will do it a day next week.

Thanks for the offer Hockey - you are welcome to stop by after dropping the wife off at the airport for fun, B.S., and have a beer, but Rob is helping me with the brakes - he has been a great help. I am at 104th and Tower so really close to the airport.
