Post Shane's 1966 burn't up bronco
This is my 1966 Bronco that have resurrected from getting parted out. While searching over Craigslist a few years back I was looking for a cheap unique 4x4 that everyone else and there mother dosent have, of course refering to a (peej). I ran in to a add for a burn't up bronco for $1560.00 I believe was the price, well after talking to the guy I ended up trading my $600 honda cr 125 dirtbike and gear for the bronco. I realized I could get my money worth by parting this out no problem and then some. well I decided to bring it to working order, which i did not realize how much work it was going to be. The owner before, told me that it was at a service station overnight getting some work done to it when it was proposed that vandiles set the truck on fire. Previous owner and his dad were planning to rebuild it untill his father died. He didn't have the know how or funds to do anything with it. So the bronco sat for six years in its burnt status. Untill I came along redoing the complete interior floor pans, door pillar and kickpanel on drivers side. bringing this thing to its current status has been a huge success with alot of time, money, blood spilled all over this EB. It has turned out to be a great 4x4, my son who is 4 never wants to ride in my wifes or my late model car/trucks he always insisted riding in the Bronco. I feel very priviledged and proud to own this truck.

My dad owned a EB when I was 8-10 years old and I loved it and had many great memories in the truck. I want my son to have the same type of experinces I had when I was younger. By the way my mom totaled that EB. Yes very sad, The EB was in prime condition. Trying to get my dad to find some pics of it.

Has original drivetrain including 170ci straight six, 4.10 gears

Upgrades include power brakes and front disc brakes and custom made diamond plate door panels since you cant find door panels from 66-67 doors

by the way hello everyone I joined a month ago but this is my first post. I had no idea that this website existed untill last month. Im so glad I found it and I wish I would have found it sooner. Lots of useful info. I hope to make it to the next breakfast. I missed out this Saturday. Cant wait to talk bronco with you all. were is place to post more pics? I can only post five here.

Looking good! How did you have the tub floating like that? Going to your ceiling? I would like to do something like that when I pull my body

So I figured since I finally made it to a breakfast that I ought post up since the bronco has change quite a bit since previous postings. Most of have seen the engine thread with the hodge engine and trans.
360cuinch 5.9 liter efi with nv4500 adapted to d20.
Dana 70 hd rear
Swapped in Dana 44 with Yukon grizzly locker coming this coming week
Heavy duty Chevy dom steering
Wh springs front 3.5 no lift on rear due to axle size and perch height
33x12.50r15 firestone destination mt's
Cherokee wiper conversion, but I don't have a good bracket for my motor. So I use manual wipe mode with the linkage.
78 F-250 steering box

what is ironic is that I was looking at your engine and noticed the original radiator overflow bag and thought to myself...............wow, think that thing has lasted all these years.

and now to remember that your bronco was the victim of a fire...............and it is still intact

WOW !

Shane, thank you for sharing your story and for bringing this beautiful Bronco back to life instead of parting it out. I got mad when I read that it was in a repair shop when this happened. The shop has to have shop keepers insurance for things like this and they should have fixed it that way. It really frustrates me because shops like that stay in business doing that kind of work.

Anyway great job rebuilding her and I hope to see it in person someday.

Looks really nice. Great way to use a cool existing bumper and customize it. I love tube bumpers.

I like the.tubes as well, its just to bad the tubing is so thin. Still pretty tough though. The hitch is a new add on as well.
Some more progress on the carrier. all this extra weight is putting the toll on my leafs. I think by the.time all the addons are done im gonna have saggy ass syndrome.

Getting some more add ons done on the ol tire rack / removable cooler carrier now. Not sure how this design will work out. The more I look at it the more it's growing on me. So the cooler or whatever carrier rides in front of the spare and behind the back seat that way I a can still have cargo behind the seat. I am making it unbolt able, so in the winter I can still use my soft top. What in the world do you need a cooler carrier in the winter anyway, ha. Not sure why decided to do it like this! Daring to be different I guess. shrug

There is such little cargo room in Broncos that anything to increase the capassity is smart. I like your design and excited to see what you are able to fit up there. I am thinking a Rubbermade Tuff-Box AND a cooler may fit up there. Nice work!
