Post Favorite music?
I have been listening to these guys for several years now and they just keep getting better and better. They play music from the 60s with a heavy metal twist and really kick it! they also use classic cars and trucks in their videos. One is with a vintage Ford F100 as well as various other makes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mp4ZzJHPQIQ

I have a wide variety of music, but love music that gets my blood flowing. When im working on my rides it keeps me going and focused!

What do you all listen to?

Cool thread. Thats a good song, never heard of them but still like them. I listen to everything, it mostly depends on my mood at the time. I'm mostly a country guy though, one of my favorite songs is Red Dirt Road by Brooks and Dunn. I guess I like this song because it reminds me who I am and where I love to be at, the back roads of Colorado.

Here is Red Dirt Road

Into a ton of different types of music myself. Everything from good hip-hop (yes there is such a thing) to old country. What I listen to most that always gets me goin though is good old punk music. Favorites have to be Rancid and Dropkick Murphy's -

Post Re: Favorite music?
So much music, so little time. My music tastes have pretty much evolved as I have. Growing up, I listened to my dad's music. Band like The Doors, the Guess Who, Gordon Lightfoot, Fleetwood Mac. Then, for some inexplicable reason I got on a 50's/60's kick. I was listening to Richie Valens, Buddy Holley, the Animals. I then got in to a country kick for several years. Must have been all of the hay baling. Brooks and Dunn, Travis Tritt, Trisha Yearwood, Little Texas, Leroy Parnell, Hank Jr., Alan Jackson, Clint Black. That's how I spent my high school years. Life in the military brought on the metal years. Metallica, Megadeth, System of a Down, Powerman 5000, Kid Rock (not metal, I know). And then I met Jimmy Neighbors. (His real name is Brian, but Jimmy seemed more fitting being the Army and all) Jimmy was a hard core straight edge guy from Raleigh NC and Jimmy had one of the greatest collections of Punk, Hardcore, and Ska I have ever heard. One snippet of Dropkick Murphys was all I needed. I was hooked from the start. I think it was the Do or Die album.

Since then, punk and to a smaller extent ska have been pretty much all I listen to. Bands like Bad Religion, Rancid, Dropkicks, Bouncing Souls, Fear, Sloppy Seconds, The Ramones, The Clash...I could go on and on. I missed seeing the Dropkicks three times when I was in North Carolina. Wound up driving to Myrtle Beach and back from Fayetteville NC to see the Dropkicks on a Thursday night when I was in school. Great show. And it turned out one of my instructors is the father of one of the members of the Tossers, one of the opening acts. Saw Dropkicks two more times, once in Denver and another in Stuttgart Germany. Took Frau Castle to see Social Distortion, the band that brought her and I together, in Denver a few years ago.

So yeah, I listen to a bunch of stuff. Here lately I have been listening to nothing but my Pandora Social Distortion station.

This was pretty much my anthem back in the day.

Social Distortion is awesome. Saw them here last year and loved the show. Denver gets awesome music coming thru. Still waiting for Coldplay, The Cult, and Collective Soul to come thru.

Pandora saved my sanity working long days and late nights in the garage. Normal FM radio is 50% music and 50% commercials - so freakin' annoying. I hear 1 or 2 commercials on Pandora per day.

I like Volbeat! Haven't heard of them before, but almost rockabilly influenced metal. Very cool. My musical tastes are wide. My longest standing love is metal, ranging from the standard Black Sabbath, Metallica, Megadeth, SOAD, etc. to heavier, darker stuff like Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir and Devildriver. I also like classical, some jazz (listening to Miles Davis' version of Porgy and Bess as I write), country from Patsy Cline and older, old school hip hop (think Fugees and Snoop), electronica (especially trance and ambient), punk, Vietnam era rock, and lots of recent soul (Amy Winehouse, Adele, etc.) Thanks for starting the thread, I've thought about it but never gotten around to it. Curious to see the responses. Chad, totally agreed on Pandora. I have no idea how many hours of ambient and punk I've listened to while working on the truck, but it has to be at least 50.

You want to see an odd Ipod playlist?? Look at mine.

Everything from Frank Sinatra to Red Hot Chili peppers. From Sophi B Hawkins to The Who.

I pretty much cover all the basses. Classic true country, blue grass, folk (think John Denver) classic rock (Stones, Who, Santana) Swing, pop, dance, modern "Country" (not much about it that is country any more), early rap, Blondee, Nine Inch Nails, Guns and Roses, Johnny Cash, Hank Jr., Hank Sr., Bob Segar.....

I get tired of all of it and start listening to political talk radio for a month then start back into the music again.

When I hit shuffle.... it can be a bit odd.

Had not thought about Pandora in the shop - I have it on my phone but never use it. I wil have to give it a try.

Great thread.

I'm also a big fan of grooveshark.com. Let's you create a playlist of songs/albums you specifically want from their library all for free. It's a good switch when I find something on Pandora that I want to listen to more of.

In a word? Country.

I listen to a very wide variety as well. I like the older country like Marty Robbins, Red Sovine, Eddie Arnold, Gene Autry, etc. I like Chris Ledoux, and other cowboy artists. I guess I prefer those who walk the western walk. I have some Christian stuff, mainly rock, but also some gospel country. I like a fair bit of the new country, but it's not my favorite. Lately my kick has been Red Dirt and Americana which rubbed off while I was in TX. Kyle Park, Bart Crow, Eli Young Band, Cord Lund, Kevin Fowler, Wade Bower, Micky and the Motorcars, Reckless Kelly, Randy Rogers... Nothing like watching these guys live, sitting in the shade in some backwoods venue drinking a cold Shiner!

Pretty much most of the stuff you'd hear at the Music Fest in Steamboat:
http://www.themusicfest.com/index2.php

I'll toss in a little Adult alternative and hip-hop now and then as well. Even some hard rock, but don't venture into metal much.

My current fav is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ho9Pqjdl ... re=related - although I think the official video ruins it.
He's got a funny voice, but it just works and a close second fav is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHaUNE0D-a4

Anyone ever heard of Hobo Jim or Royal Wade Kimes? I generally like the stuff that is NOT mainstream, can you tell?

I have a few stations created on Pandora. Would have to check out yours Dukie!

J.D.

I listen to all kinds of music anymore. Always listened to punk growin up. Nofx, rancid social d, face to face, bad religion, lagwagon, the living end, misfits, minor threat, decendents. To name a couple. I like good ol ska as well. Good clean five iron frenzy always has a energetic beat. But Bouncing souls tops my charts for ska

Nearly forgot about one of my new favorite bands, Two Step Slumber. I'm kind of biased towards their stuff, mostly because I went to high school with the lead singer.

i mostly like metal and 90's to 2000's rock, lots of classic rock, i grew up listening to rush, lynyrd skynyrd, the outlaws, the cars, REO Speedwagon, Journey, some zeppelin, bon jovi earlier stuff , love van halen, more van hagar than van halen, not a huge fan of david lee roth, metal ranges from metallica and megadeth, to killswitch engage, all that remains, and some lamb of god, tool and a perfect circle are some of my favorites, i love dave matthews band, most of what you hear on 107.9 kdza here in the springs, i love the 90's alternative like tonic, toad the wet sprocket, blues traveler, i listen to alot of country and bluegrass, still love nitty gritty dirt band, eli young band is great, allison krauss and union station, sam bush, railroad earth, i played in a couple bands in highschool and most of my family is very musical, im a drummer, and used to sing, my moms a guitarist, and she plays pretty much every stringed instrument there is, i attribute the bluegrass love to her, my brother is a guitarist, one cousin is a drummer, singer and guitarist, my uncle is a drummer, and both of his kids are starting to play instruments, pretty much all there is that i dislike is rap and most pop music
