TTf150 is a new ecoboost. A very healthy and badass twin turbo v6

That is one clean truck. Wish I knew it was for sale before I ordered the Ecoboost or it would have been mine. It's in my driveway though so it must be part mine now. LOL

The new EcoBoost Engine is very exciting. Will be cool to hear your real-world impressions when it arrives.

Re: Bronco Build is gonna be longer now....
Congrats on the find! Looks like a sharp truck. Auto or manual? I'm still trying to avoid the skinny pedal on mine. That turbo whine and torque are too much to resist at times though. With all of the late model Fords and EFI swaps we've got going around in the club, an Auto Enginuity purchase is looking more and more like a good idea.

Re: Bronco Build is gonna be longer now....
Booger you can do the same thing with a wifi OBDII plug and a smartphone. Not as convenient if you always want to monitor things, but I use this setup in the Mazda and it works well for the short periods of time. I use a bluetooth scanner and there is some lag in the signal, but it was cheap and did what I needed it to do.

Re: Bronco Build is gonna be longer now....
That didnt last long. It's no longer stock.....
Added an AFE intake, MBRP 4" turbo back exhaust, Glowshift gauges(EGT, Boost, Tranny Temp). Swapped out the Brake controller to a better one, Installed 55W 5000k HIDs. Still have to do shocks as these are toasted. Gonna Order up the Stancor 586-902 for the glow plug relay. Gonna tint the front windows to match. Then I'll about be done.

Re: Bronco Build is gonna be longer now....
You probably know, but Bilsteins seem to be the number one pick for shocks on these trucks. I love mine. However, on a non-lifted truck, you are forced to settle for those ugly mustard yellow ones...
The AFE a dry-flow? Sounds like it's coming along!

Re: Bronco Build is gonna be longer now....
The afe is not a dry flow. Its a filter dad had on his expo that I had an adapter for to mate it to the 4" intake tube. Gonna get a prefilter sack for it.
As for shocks my b.i.l has had good luck with the Monroe reflex shocks. Made a huge difference in his truck. Didn't like the bilsteins in dads expo.

Re: Bronco Build is gonna be longer now....
Just be careful with that oiled filter as I am sure you are well aware. AFE makes a good product, but I don't like filters that rely on oil to filter the air. When you want to upgrade, look at AEM dry-flow. Cleanable and no need to oil. Also, diesels "consume" about twice the air that a gasoline motor does. So if it's a small filter, you may be hurting yourself more than you are helping.
Let us know about the shocks. Maybe the expo has the wrong valving?? I think that's the first complaint I have heard on Bilstein.
Post some pics of your engine bay and new exhaust.

Re: Bronco Build is gonna be longer now....
Gauges look sweet!! Kinda wish mine weren't so plain jane. But if it ain't broke...
Anyway, the filter looks fine for size. Just worried when you said you pulled it from a gasser.
You have a kitty in the exhaust? I am nearly certain you are subject to emissions in Broomfield, but there were a few lucky souls who did not have a cat from the factory and you are exempt from having one for emissions.

Re: Bronco Build is gonna be longer now....
No cat on this one. I have the stock exhaust in the bed for when I go get emissions next week. I'll argue it to death if they say I need one. I looked before I ordered the exhaust to seeif I needed to do a cat also.

Hmm interesting. I was looking at the tymar intake. Riffraff diesel has the same thing but cheaper.

Re: Bronco Build is gonna be longer now....
I started with a tymar, but then instead of replacing the Donaldson filter, replaced it with the largest AEM cone filter that would fit. I like the washability and I don't think I sacrificed any filtering.

Re: Bronco Build is gonna be longer now....
So today we set up the hitch to haul boogers camper. Went for a nice test drive. We went up highway 285 to pine junction. Just to see how she does up that 7% grade pullin the camper. Weight of the camper is around 5500LB loaded. As we were truckin up the hill about 50mph boostin around 15-17psi EGTs were around 950-1000* we heard a strang noise. Sounded like a tire blew out. Just a quick loud whistle. Boost gauge didnt flutter or anything. Maybe compressor surge? or up pipe gaskets? Not sure. We heard it twice then backed out of it. Never heard it again. Just the 2 times. Checked the intercooler tubes to see if we blew one off and nothing there. Any ideas? J.D or Dan?
