Not only roped him but rode him too.Told my daughter I'd give her a $100 to ride him,by the time the neighbors left the kitty was up to $230.That's just good parenting.

I pulled out into the alley last night & there was a big 5x mule deer still in velvet. I think its probably the same one that I found lounging under my crabapple tree last fall.

I would have a hard time not tryin to get it to "commit suicide" and make it's way into my freezer. The most i've had in my yard is a prairie dog. my lab just about gave it a heart attack. Doubt it will be back. Oh and the neighbor has about 30 homing pigeons. A few of them have been a nice meal for my roommates pointer.

Okay, I had this conversation a few days ago with a buddy of mine and now I'm curious. What's the Colorado standard for counting points? Back in Missouri an 8 point buck was a deer with a total of 8 points. My buddy was telling me in California they would consider that a 4 pointer, as it would be assumed there were 4 points on each side, totally 8.

Just so you know I'm not completely hijacking, the other day there was a very nice 8 pointer, still in velvet, hanging out in the parking lot of the townhomes down the street. Now I need to put a salt lick in the lot next door.

Once they get to the really high elevations the elk turn into marmots.

Thats what the marmots turn into above 14,000 feet.

I see them on the side of I-25 between Tejon and Cimarron all the time.

I found these in my yard. I don't know what they're feeding on.

In the long run you might be better off with the elk.
