so i've been elbows deep in trying to get my bronco back to the running state for the past few months, And i've just gotten tired on chasing the cooling issue's around so it's time for a new radiator. Does anybody here have any susgestions? should i go with a nice shinny alumin rad or go with the biggest brass copper radiator that i can find? Any advice would be great thanks Matt

I am thinking about wrapping my headers with DEI Exhaust wrap. I think that will help with Underhood temps. Rox has posted up a couple of great heat shielding products as well. If you get a new radiator and a couple of other mods you should have your cooling issues fixed.

Just stick with a brass rad. If cooling power is what you need go with a 4 core.

i don't want anything fancy just something that will hold it's own and not be a pain in the azz to have fixed whenever that time will come. Because it will come. Does anybody have a certain brand that they have had good luck with. When it comes to brass radiators?

Then don't go aluminum. Not a easy fix in certain areas.
I used a four core from bronco graveyard. No complaints.

I just finished installing my shiny new Champion aluminum radiator. I'm pretty happy with it so far. I haven't driven it much, but the truck is definitely running cooler than with the old one. Build quality looks good and I'm impressed with some of the details like a nicely machined billet filler neck. After seeing some of the other posts I'll be curious to see how it holds up. Mostly I went with it because my old one really needed replacing and they've got a good reputation.

Dan whats the specs is it 3 core or 4?
I too have thought about the triple pass. I used to have more issues with heating but after wrapping the headers and fuel line it seemed to help alot. One thing I had was the heat soak issue and have done many things to alleviate it. I even purchased a different manifold to eliminate the egr so I could lower the carb and use a wood spacer for heat isolation. The best thing to help is the Derale tranny cooler with the built in fan. The fan runs for a while after the engine is off and that blows hot air out of the hood. Haven't had heat soak since.

I need to reconsider the tranny cooler though. Might try running the fluid back through the radiator after running it first through my Derale cooler. One to cool it even more or in the cold warm it a little.
