broken tranny dipstick
I'd like to replace this dipstick. Its difficult to read how much fluid I have because of the location of the break. It reads up from the broken tip...
"o|<- DON'T ADD IF BETWEEN ARROWS CHECK WHEN HOT IDLING IN PARK WARRANTY REQUIRES ESW-M2C33-F (TYPE-F) OIL FORD D5TP-7A020-BA"
The break happened at the hole "o" below the top arrow "<-". 1.) do you guys think this was the correct dipstick for my tranny? 2.) Where would you look to find another? part #?
Thanks guys!

Re: broken tranny dipstick
You sure it doesn't say D5TP-7A020-EA? That's a '75-'77 Bronco dipstick. The length looks correct if it had the lower portion. You could find a longer stick at a junkyard, cut the top part off and either weld or rivet it to your handle.
Here's the part you're missing.

Re: broken tranny dipstick
Thanks Viperwolf. You're probably correct about the "B" being an "E". Are you suggesting any dipstick from a junkyard that I'd mark and cut to proper length? Or should I call around specificly for a 75-77 bronco dipstick?

Re: broken tranny dipstick
Get outta here you sickos. The tip of my dipstick is broken. When I stick it in and out of the tranny I'm afraid I'm putting too much fluid in it. If I put a bigger dipstick in it I'm afraid I'll hurt the tranny.
Thanks for all the humor....I know where most of you live and where you keep your dipsticks...

Re: broken tranny dipstick
I'm pretty sure I have a spare in good condition from a Bronco pan fill C-4, I just don't know the length. I'll measure it when I get home from work. Yours for the asking.

Hey Viperwolf-If you're still reading this disturbing thread...I double checked the numbers and it does say "D5TP-7A020-BA. I don't know what a difference that would make.
Thanks again.

Re: broken tranny dipstick
BA? Maybe you have a circumsized dipstick. The length above the full mark looked pretty close from the pics. Of course you need to have the correct tube to match it. Those have no part numbers and are difficult to measure when installed.

I think this has officially gotten out of hand. We should let the thread go away.
And its Shawneau (shah-NOE'), a$$hole.

I second that suggestion. Shawn "DragRace" Gregg has been a real good sport.
