Dinner with friends... Don't mind if I do.
Looking to hang out with Bronco friends and family Thursday evening, September 1st, so I'm hoping that someone can give me some suggestions for a restaurant IVO Denver that has outdoor seating so I can soak up some Mile High air, good food and good brews. I'd usually depend on my foodie wife to pick out a place, but since she doesn't know I'm coming to town that would lead to failure. Would any of you guys be able to make a Thursday? I'd normally do it on Friday, but the camping/wheeling goodness starts the next day and a couple of folks had talked about heading up to grab a camping spot Friday evening. I know Entourage is usually good for a recommendation or two, here are a couple of links to outdoor places I was checking out, it doesn't have to be in Denver, just thought that would be central for most people, what do you think? http://denver.metromix.com/bars-and-clu ... 88/contenthttp://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=Pa ... 0072009717http://www.opentable.com/promo.aspx?m=5&pid=14http://www.gayot.com/restaurants/best-d ... _31dv.html

How about something in Morrison? If you want I'll research the restaurants there.

I might be able to make a Thursday, especially if it were a family friendly event in the Denver or north area.

Count us in for sure. It may be fun to hit the patios at Rock Bottom Brewery at 16th Street Mall, Cherry Cricket, And Rio Grande are great choices. I will keep brainstorming for a good family spot.

Re: Dinner with friends... Don't mind if I do.
On 16th st Rock Bottom Brewery has a good sized patio and decent food. The Rio is great but I wouldn't necessarily call it family friendly. I'd avoid anything in Lodo as it will get crowded really quickly. In Larimer square, Tamayo has a cool rooftop patio and good s, I've heard good about the food but have never eaten there. In the uptown area some favorites are Steuben's, Tavern Uptown, Park and Co. and a little further up 17th st, Vine St Pub. Over in the lohi area Lola's has really good food and a killer patio with a good view of downtown but it's a little pricey. Alehouse is good but gets really crowded as well. If you wanted to do Morrison as someone suggested you could check out the Morrison Inn, they have a pretty cool roof patio area and good Mexican food. The various Lodo's locations all have good patios. There's one up north in Westminster and one down in the Littleton/Highland's ranch area. I'd just avoid the drunken college kid/amateur league at the one that's in Lodo.

It is exciting that you got some time back in the United States. You definitely desserve a break from defending our country and any excuse to hang out with you while you are here sounds great. Luckily, Denver area has a ton of great places, so any place you pick will be a ton of fun. Let me know what you decide (time and place) and I will get an Email sent out to the club members. This should be a great time, a great excuse to get together, and celebrate.
Congrats on your time off - exciting that it is working out. Your family is going to be soooo surprised!
Hopefully we can get a ton of Bronco guys to come out and see ya at this family event and/or the campingtrip before you head back for 6 more months of hell.

'76 - I was trying to stay more central but I'll check out Morrison for a later date. Thanks Entourage & Dukie for the suggestions - Steuben's looks pretty good, they have a good sized outdoor area, are kid friendly and take reservations, the food looks good and isn't overpriced, plus parking looks good. Of course my work computer is blocking their website so I can't check out the choices, but it says full bar on Yelp. What do you guys think about a 7 pm show time? Late enough for working folks and early enough for the kiddos?

Steuben's is awesome. They have great food and a cool atmosphere. They do have a full bar, some great cocktail choices and a good selection with a bunch of different local brews as well as the usual big names. Their parking can get full pretty quickly but all of the meters around there are free after 6 and there are a couple of cheap pay lots right near by.

Stuben's is a great choice. I have been once, but we had a great time. The bar prides themselves as being Drink Mixologist. They have a great menu. They routinely win 5280 Magazine awards for their food, /bar, patio, and Best Late Night Eats category for the $5.00 Burger and Beer Special. Heard a lot of great comments on the Lobster Roll - it is over a pound of lobster! FYI Happy hour is 3-6 PM. I will be there at 7 PM!

Drink one for me too. I can't seem to manage to get to Denver on a weekend, much less a weeknight. You guys have fun and I hope to see a trip report!

Going to miss another of Kinder's evenings out... Darn it. The last one is legendary, the stories are still coming out. But alas, I have to coach and then take a young man to look at a bronco for sale....
Have fun, enjoy your time home with friends and family.
Thank you for your service,
