Anyone have a smog pump for a 302?
So, i don't know how i overlooked this, however i failed to notice i was missing my smog pump... so need to get that on there as its the only thing I failed when I took the bronco in today for emissions testing.. guy was cool about it and he just said put one on, hook up the belt and bring it back and I will sign off..
i have 10 days to get back there, I plan on just going to the junk yard and pulling one but thought I would hit up you locals to see if anyone wants to free up some garage space ;)

Re: Anyone have a smog pump for a 302?
Dumb question; How was the 76 302 SMOG pump ported ( back of the head or through the exhaust manifold)? I got stationed in the evil CA and can't get my pig registered. I have a non-CA 1976 302 Bronco. I've recently changed the intake manifold to an Edelbrock w/EGR spacer. I pulled a 2bbl carb and SMOG pump from a 78 351 Ranchero. I believe all I need at this point is to run the pump's air. The back of the heads appear to be capped off and my exhaust manifold seems stock (without ports). I'm clueless. Everything I can find on SMOG show's me how to rid myself of this crap, or looks nothing close to under my hood, so any help you provide would help. Thanks - Paul

Re: Anyone have a smog pump for a 302?
The 76 had air ports in each head on either side, then a vacuum solenoid hooked up between the smog pump and the air injection holes. The driver side was on the rear near the back of the exhaust manifold and the passenge side was at the front near the exhaust manifold, both locations on the head itself. The later year 302's had the emission ports on the rear of the heads... depending on what year engine you have and what california requires you might have to junkyard dive to get all the pieces.. there were quite a few things that make up the emissions on these. I will try to find a picture of everything you need for a 76.
I plumped mine from the smog pump to a one way valve right before the cat and passed. But I know california requires basically stock setup... or think it does.

here are a few links that might help.. i think you might want to talk to a refree (i think thats what they are called) to make sure what you have so your not guessing. Also I would hook up with the california bronco group as they will have better solutions then we might out here in the colorado...
