Post Christmas Tree Permit
Anyone know how to get a permit to cut your own Christmas Tree? Anyone ever done it? Costs? I am likely too late, but damn that would be a cool family Bronco activity.

Not too late. Check the National Forest near you. Did it two years ago and may do it again this year. Here's a flyer.

I was thinking of tying it to my rear tire carrier, but I may just go in our SUV. Thanks for the link and info! Good to know I am not too late.

We do this every year. Its great fun but it can take a long time to actually find a descent tree. Just prepare to be looking for a few hours.

Did it every year growing up. I think we bought one tree off a lot, but that was in TX where there aren't a lot of evergreens...

Pretty inexpensive and something very cool to do as a family!

Post Re: Christmas Tree Permit
The prime weekend dates were sold out a few weeks ago, but there are lots of week days still open. I noticed a few permits on Craigslist with people trying to make their $ back. I am sure that up-selling the permit would have some serious consequences. This really would be fun family activity.

Sold out? Times have changed. But I never went Christmas Tree hunting around Denver either. It was always in SOCO and there were never dates on when you can go...

Now it's all making sense. The fender flares. The saws-all. The Christmas tree hunt. Chads planning to drive his Bronco off-pavement!

My Bronco will get cut someday! The Calendar pics showed me how much fun you guys have without me. BTW - I have a permit for Friday and will likely be taking the wife's SUV since it has a heater :)

Next year, I should have the heater done in the Bronco and will take it.

Thanks for all of the help guys - should be fun Griswold Christmas!
