Post Bad door post
Any idea for the cost of this repair. I cannot do this myself. It could be a reason to walk away from purchasing this EB or knock some off the price. Not sure how the pic will show up.
Thanks for any thoughts advice!

I agree it is a sloppy looking repair.

The puddle of water / moisture on the rubber mat has me thinking the floors are rusty too ?

Yes the repair is questionable but what about the hole above the top hinge and beginnings on the bottom hinge. Yeah the floorpans are rusted but I saw the floorpan repair at Dans and thats doable (not as good as Dan's though).

It's all parts and labor, the tricky part is the alignment so the door still works. Jeff's lists the DS doorpost for 100.00 so the rest is up to a skilled body man or an adventurist garage mechanic (I'm the later by the way).

If you are thinking of buying this one, start thinking towards doing it yourself. If the door post and the floor is bad, there is more. You can get a decent welder, the replacement panels and learn to do it yourself for much cheaper than you are going to get it done for.
We did our repairs on our own. They came out pretty fair, and I had not welded sheet metal before.

One other thought. If that door post is solid you may be able to cut and patch the bad areas and not do the whole door post. It would definitely avoid the worry of getting everything aligned perfect.

I bet we could knock out a door post in a day, provided everyone was fueled with fine vittles and warm beverages.

Which truck is this Gregg?

The door posts on mine were replaced years ago by a friend of my dad's who is no longer around...he had a great shop setup at his house and loved working with metal but took him about 12 hours to get everything lined up correctly and tacked in.

The bottom of my door posts are bad - I am hoping that I can cutout the infected areas and install a patch panel. The 12 Hour Job would take me 72 Hours! It is a common problem, but the repair sucks. If you paid a pro to do it, the price would be astronomical (12 Hours x $60(+) per Hour banghead

Lot's of to consider when doing a door post. It's like opening pandoras box.
For example, are the hinges worn out, rockers trashed, kick panels rotten and so on.
In a perfect world if it was just a door post 10-12 hrs.is reasonable. But consider what's holding that door post up.
If anybody needs this type of work done I can do it right the first time with NO HACK WORK!!
Very reasonable in price as I have very low overhead.Iown my own tools and shop!
Estimates are hard to do from a photo,so if your interested get ahold of me and we'll go from there.
Bottom line is I know what I'm doing and can make your doors fit and function properly
Thanks,JGZ
