Front and Rear Limited Slip Install
I am adding Front and Rear Limited Slips over the next few weeks. The front D44, I want to get the Trac Lock LSD Zilla recommended a while back from Tom's. The rear LSD install is a little different. Question is what else do I order for the front and rear installs? Front Dana 44 LSD Install:Additive? http://www.tomsbroncoparts.com/product/ ... ditive-newGasket? http://www.tomsbroncoparts.com/product/ ... ord-broncoFront Tube Seal? http://www.tomsbroncoparts.com/product/ ... o-new-eachYoke Seal? http://www.tomsbroncoparts.com/product/ ... bronco-newSpindle Bearing and Seal Kit? http://www.tomsbroncoparts.com/product/ ... bronco-newRing and Pinion Bearing Kit? http://www.tomsbroncoparts.com/product/ ... ms-dana-44The rear LSD install is a little different. Justin and Gregg gave me a business card to an older guy in Evergreen that has been rebuilding Ford diffs for like 50 years. I am going to un-install the rear and drop it off for him to remove the spool and add a limited slip then do all the specialized micrometer and big wrench stuff. I am not sure exactly what LSD he is installing but IIRC it is a Motorcraft but could be wrong. When he's done, I will pick it up and install it. Cannot wait to get rid of the rear spool! Viper already has dibs on the rear spool - sorry to disappoint :D. What parts do I need to reinstall the Ford Rear 9"? Rear 9" LSD Install: Additive? http://www.tomsbroncoparts.com/product/ ... ditive-newGasket? http://www.tomsbroncoparts.com/product/ ... bronco-newPinion Seal? http://www.tomsbroncoparts.com/product/ ... bronco-newAnything Else? ZOSO looked at the Front Hubs (Warn Premium), axles, steering, etc. looked fine. I noticed Greggs thread on the gear oil to buy. The rear axles are new 31 spline chromoly with new wheel bearings so I think I just need items related to the LSD installs and make it as easy as possible without running to the parts store. I would also like to order everything at once from Tom's if possible. Hopefully ZOSO will let me use the spindle bearing nut tool again :). Thanks for all of the help so far in this process ZOSO, Viper, Zilla, Justin, and Gregg. Slowly getting my rig snow bash worthy.

Re: Front and Rear Limited Slip Install
Not sure how I missed it, but Wild Horses carries the Track Lock so I will order from Wild Horses instead.

Re: Front and Rear Limited Slip Install
Keep me posted when you get around to doing this. I'd like to put a limited slip in as well.

You don't really need the gaskets. RTV is fine. Tube seals are a good idea while the front diff is out. You don't need the yoke or pinion seal if you aren't changing the gear ratio and it was setup correctly previously. Spindle seal kits may not be needed but you won't know until the front axles are out. They can be found anywhere, part # SK1 I think. Basically just need the new diffs, diff bearings and some RTV. Bearing kits are nice but you'll probably have some parts left over. Rear diff bearings should be bought after you get the diff out. There are several sizes.
I don't remember calling dibs on the spool.

Re: Front and Rear Limited Slip Install
Chad, I would steer away from the ford/factory trac loc limited slip. They are fine for street but pretty much suck off road. You'll want to find one thats a little tighter. Find out exactly what Dan installed as those work awesome on and off road.
And when you order up the parts you might as well order your flairs......
