2013 Mustang GT500
What a car, 650 hp. Along with the Cadillac CTS-V Coup, American Muscle at its finest!

Re: 2013 Mustang GT500
It is an extremely exciting time in American Muscle Car history to see HP numbers like this in production cars - the V6 powered Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger with 300+ HP, V8 over 400 HP, and the high performance GT500, ZL1, and R/T with over 500 HP, all with impressive MPG. I agree with your nod to the Cadillac V-Series cars - an American car to compete (or beat) the BMW M's and M-B AMG's.

Re: 2013 Mustang GT500
I read that at lunch time. I'd love to have one but I'd have to sell my 04 and my psd. I dont want to do that so I guess it's another wish car gone. I already have my dream car so Im good. And for now 550rwhp is plenty.

Re: 2013 Mustang GT500
Wow, what a sweet car! I love the styling and the HP!!
While I believe the cars of the 60's and 70's are the forefathers of all Muscle Cars, I believe these to be simply a modern day rendition of the same!

Re: 2013 Mustang GT500
There is no question that the current pony car designers agree with ya, Zilla - they are taking a ton of styling cues from the originals. The head lights, tail lights, dash layouts, sillhouettes, etc. are all based on the old muscle cars from the 60's and 70's.

Haha zozo. Nah, the Audi is paid for and too fast for me anyway! :) Those cars are too expensive and any spare cash I have seems to be being spent on that little ole Bronco!

Re: 2013 Mustang GT500
Its a nice car. Its not my 67 coupe either. Maybe its nicer and more powerfull, but it does not give you that vintage feel when you get in it to go for a drive.
I did PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) that red 2012 GT500 and it is an amazing vehicle. I loved the glass roof and the 5 star safety rating. It was easy to drive around town and on the highway.
I have had my 67 for 20 years this year and never thought I would even consider selling it, but I am. Sad times for sure.

Re: 2013 Mustang GT500
It is indeed an exciting time in the auto industry. A weak economy forces innovation (or, in this case, nostalgia). I'm a big fan of the Camaro (wasn't at first), but think the Mustang is pretty sweet, too. I just hope they never put that "Transformers" Corvette into production. You can only cram so many lines into one design before you destroy its "essence".
Still, these new cars lack tinny door sounds, an overly rumbly engine, poor steering, poor braking, unburned fuel, and that nervous feeling you get every time you start it up...mmmmm...muscle cars...gotta love 'em.

Re: 2013 Mustang GT500
Agreed. Part of the fun of vintage cars/trucks is the notion that they could kill you at any time.

Re: 2013 Mustang GT500
Nice looking car for sure. And keeping a manual tranny behind that V8 is music to my ears.
